Last Sunday I had the chance to shoot Cal State Fullerton's National Pan-Hellenic Council's step show with my good friend J. Go. Gonna toss up a few of my favorites.

NIkon Creative Lighting System (CLS)
I recently acquired a second Nikon flash (Sb-600) to go along with my main (Sb-800) and have starting playing around with Nikon's CLS system. For all you non-Nikon shooters, Nikon has a system of wireless flash syncing you can use without having to buy anything other than the actual camera and flashes. Here are a few pics from my first foray into shooting with off camera flashes...I had no idea what I was doing.
PS- The last of my road trip pictures should be done before the end of the week...hopefully!

Magical Mystery Tour
We've finally made it to New Jersery, and have gotten Jason all moved into his apartment. Newark is an... interesting place, to say the least. We're heading to New York tomorrow, but since we can't bring any bags to the Jimmy Fallon show (!) won't be able to take pictures until Thursday. For now, I'll toss up some teaser pictures from the past few days (still no editing ability till I get home =/)
Shots from Niagara Falls, Hard Rock Cafe, and the Baseball Hall of Fame.

On the Road part 2.
A few pics from the past few days, St Louis and Indianapolis. Haven't edited anything yet so don't judge me!
Apparently the whole 'out of focus' picture is what the cool kids are doing, so I figured I'd give it a shot.
Heading through Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, and Canada over the next few days, hopefully I'll be able to get some more stuff up.

Best Buy Talent Show
My store recently had a talent show for it's employees, I played some songs with people from my department, but took some pictures. Since I spent about 8 hours editing the video from the event I'm just going to toss up some eye candy (I'll link the video when I upload it!) BTW, that picture of DJ Fonzarelli was shooped in a way that I picked up from Scott Roeder, interesting stuff.

San Diego was discovered by the Germans
Last Tuesday I took a day tripper (one way ticket yeah!....) to San Diego to spend the day with my friend Elisse. I had never been to San Diego before other than visiting Sea World, and was stoked to take some pictures.

Nikon d300 [] f 1.8 [] 1/3200 [] ISO 100 [] 50mm
The sun was OUT this day, so I got to pretty much shoot everything on 100 ISO. Once again I stuck with the 50mm for most of the day, which had it's pros and cons. While I enjoy the depth of field control it has, the length sometimes feels a bit much (cropped sensor~75mm in actuality).
Nikon d300 [] f 5 [] 1/500 [] ISO 100 [] 50mm
Nikon d300 [] f 1.8 [] 1/3200 [] ISO 100 [] 50mm
Even in some of the darker area we visited I managed to keep the ISO at 100, which was cool. The Well picture is my first foray into sepia images since I worked in a portrait studio (three years ago...). As for the cannon picture, I'm pretty pleased with how my black and white pictures are coming out these days.
PS- My photographer friend Michelle Kim finally got her website up, so go check it out!

Home + Studio = Home Studio
Nikon d300 | f1.8 @ 1/60th sec | 50mm | 1600 iso
We pretty much set up my bass amp in one room and ran all the cables into the living room. The room with my amp was pretty small, and I had only brought my 50 with me, annnd it was kinda dark, but I was pleased with how the depth of field (omg BOKEH) turned out on this one.
Nikon d300 | f1.8 @ 1/60th sec | 50mm | 1600 iso
This was actually taken by Daniel, one of the few good ones he managed to squeeze out (haha!). I definitely think I enjoy black and whites more than colors, and I'm always trying to find a post production method that gets more of a film look to it. The noise factor is something I'm enjoying more and more in these shots.

Just some other shots to look at, you can see the rest of the photos here. BTDUBS, the second shot is a cheap knock-off of a Brandon Wong style pic, haha.
