Home + Studio = Home Studio

My band has finally started recording what hopes to be a real demo/ep of sorts. Our good friend Emilie has been kind enough to lend her expertise with the whole recording gig. I went up to Rancho today to meet with her and my drummer Daniel to record my bass parts, and took some pictures along the way.

We pretty much set up my bass amp in one room and ran all the cables into the living room. The room with my amp was pretty small, and I had only brought my 50 with me, annnd it was kinda dark, but I was pleased with how the depth of field (omg BOKEH) turned out on this one.

This was actually taken by Daniel, one of the few good ones he managed to squeeze out (haha!). I definitely think I enjoy black and whites more than colors, and I'm always trying to find a post production method that gets more of a film look to it. The noise factor is something I'm enjoying more and more in these shots.

Just some other shots to look at, you can see the rest of the photos here. BTDUBS, the second shot is a cheap knock-off of a Brandon Wong style pic, haha.
